I am Uncle* Michelle.
I'm a writer working in poetry as well as copy, but distinctions schmistinctions. I'm currently head of marketing, content, and community at a startup called Byte. We've proudly launched a series of apps that enable people to be their most raw and creative selves within communities built around transparency, positivity, and fun.
I simultaneously make videos as part of the creative duo United Labor. I'm also a co-founder of Crit, a part-time seasonal residency for artists, writers, and designers in NYC. I've moonlighted as a script editor and voiceover actor for TED Ed. I tweet @shinyshinysocks and lovingly satirize stock music houses @killingtracks.
I graduated magna cum laude from Brown University in 2008 with a degree in Modern Culture & Media.
As a former señor copywriter at R/GA, I worked with some wonderful clients like Samsung, Hudson Yards, J&J, MasterCard, PwC, Verizon, McCormick, Microsoft, Unilever, Ad Council, JCPenney, and Amplify.
And as a freelance copywriter, I've done work for Havas and Condé Nast/The New Yorker.

*Why Uncle? Somewhere in time, uncles were given universal license to be eccentric yet lovable. And not just because they're family. I strive everyday to live up to the title.
